  What you’re hearing on this ska comp is the sound of ska music in St. Louis in 2024. These bands make up this brick city’s American ska scene, and together we’re raising money to help out another thriving local scene that’s vitally important to many in this town… our skateboarding scene and specifically SK8 Liborius. Its main base, a DIY-renewed abandoned old church, having been destroyed by fire, SK8 Liborius needs some help. This local ska comp will hopefully accomplish two things… 1) Help SK8 Liborius by raising money for them and 2) Help more people hear these fantastic bands actively playing ska music in St. Louis. From one band who’s been playing this music since the early 1980’s, Murder City Players, to another brand new act making his debut right here on this very project, Big Time Scottie, and seven other exciting groups making up this ska comp packed full with… the dirty punk-ska of HotRails, the power pop ska of Boss Battle, the blazing ska-jazz of Skamasala, the punk rock/ska-punk of RumLuck, the arena rock ska of Orangetree, the ska-influenced punk rock of Modern Angst, and the funky reggae ska of Free Champagne. These bands, as diverse as our lovely town, are here today playing ska music for all who wanna get their butts out of their seats and dance around the room.
